Angle Shooting

Angle shooting is a tactic of using unfair methods in hopes of taking advantage of the opponent, who is usually inexperienced.
Although angle shooting is technically not illegal in most poker rooms, it is absolutely against common poker etiquette and a sure way to antagonize everyone at the table.
Let’s use an example to make it clearer what angle shooting exactly is.
You make a big bet on the river. When it’s your opponent’s turn, they make a motion with their hand like they’re going to call and put chips into the pot. As they do so, you react to their move, and they gain usable information on the strength of your hand.
Needless to say, players engaging in this tactic do so to take advantage of their opponent’s reactions and profit off of them. Over the years, many poker tournaments have instituted rules to prevent this from occurring.
