Big Blind Ante
0 minutes
The big blind ante is a feature usually introduced in the later stages of a poker tournament. Its main goal is to drive the action besides the usual small blind and big blind betting options.
Typically, the big blind ante is paid by every player at the table. In some cases, the player in the big blind pays the ante for everyone.
For example, in a $100/$200 game, the player in the big blind position will post $200 for their big blind and put another $200 for the ante.
The ante is immediately put into the pot and is dead. The big blind is live and still part of the pre-flop betting action.
