The term broadway cards refers to the five highest-ranked cards in poker. These are the ten, jack, queen, king, and ace.
Each of these cards is a broadway card, but when you line them up together in a combination, you can say that you have a broadway straight or even shorter, broadway, a very strong poker hand.
The term broadway is used to allude to the popularity of these cards in poker, much like this New York street is the most popular in the city.
