Cooler

A cooler in poker is a situation in which a player that has a strong hand and plays it correctly still losses to a stronger hand.
When you find yourself in a cooler situation, you lose not because you made a poor decision or because someone outplayed you. You simply lost because the luck of the draw wasn’t on your side.
In other words, unless you’re absolutely certain you’ve read your opponent, there’s nothing you can do in a cooler situation.
Let’s say you got dealt a pair of aces while your opponent gets a pair of sevens. The flop produces an ace, a seven, and a five. The turn comes out another seven.
There is really nothing you can do here but lose your entire stack. Even though you have a full house, the opponent’s four-of-a-kind combination is better and they’ll get paid.
