Over the Top

The over the top poker term refers to the action of one player re-raising another player’s raise. The term is often used when the player re-raising does so for a notably larger amount of money.
For example, in the betting round after the turn, your opponent makes a sizable raise. Knowing that you have the best hand in the game, you decide to go over the top and put in 2x the pot.
