Soft Play
0 minutes
The soft play poker term refers to a colluding action at the table, in which one player avoids betting or raising because they don’t want to win money off of their partner at the table.
In other words, the player bets in a soft way to significantly change the outcome and save their friend’s poker chips.
For example, you and your friend sign up for a poker tournament and agree you’re not going to push each other for big pots when going head to head.
If you ever face each other, you simply bet small or make conservative decisions, effectively increasing each other’s chances of progressing further in the competition.
