Cold Deck
0 minutes
A cold deck is a deck that a cheating player or a dealer has intentionally rigged to produce the results they want.
In cold decking, the dealer is most often a part of the scheme, as they are the ones that can easily manipulate the deck without being detected by any of the suspecting players.
This is called a “cold deck” because the manipulated cards are freshly introduced in the game, so they would be cold compared to the cards that have already been played with for a few games.
For example, this can be through setting up one player with a very strong hand like a straight flush or quads, often making sure that the losing players also get a good hand, such as top full house, so they can’t get away and will lose their entire stack.
