A poker rack is a tray used for carrying chips in the poker room. It can typically hold a hundred chips distributed in five stacks of twenty. This is why the term “rack” is also often used to refer to a stack of exactly 100 chips.
For example, players can say something like: “I put my chips in the rack” or “I won half a rack of black chips yesterday” and most seasoned poker players will instantly know what they’re talking about.
