Table stakes mean that the players can only invest the amount of money they have in front of them on the table. They can’t go into their pockets for more betting money during a hand. If a player bets all of his table stakes, they will still be in play for the main pot, but another side pot will be created for all other active players for which they won’t be eligible.
For example, you can use chips in front of you to bet however you wish. However, if you put your entire stack into the pot during a hand, you can’t use any other money that wasn’t there to start the hand.. This is a widely accepted feature in most casinos and poker rooms.
